Pumpkin picking 2011

It’s my favorite time of year again! I love the fall… maybe it’s because my birthday is in the fall… maybe it’s the crisp air and the changing leaves… maybe it’s just everything about it… I don’t know. What I do know is that I’m looking forward to fall for months!

One of the things  I love to do in the fall, especially now that the kids are getting older, is go to the pumpkin patch. This year was our third year going to this particular patch, and while much of it is the same, so much has changed!

Who knew that there would be ships and oceans at the farm?

There were also wild west towns to be played in…

and straw seats to be walked on by one dare devil…

The best part is jumping down off of the end though!

The kids were put in jail… try as he may, Noah couldn’t look sad for more than 2 seconds!

We’re still trying to figure out what Noah is doing in this photo!

Abby was enjoying herself… and some time away from her brother.

We took breaks from running and playing to watch the chickens and rooster sing.

When the straw started poking them in the butt, they moved on to bigger chairs!

Then it was time to run and play again!

That’s not road rage, that’s pure joy!!!

Abby had her first corn on the cob!!

It’s funny that there are no pictures of us in the actual pumpkin patch… I guess it was a little too hard to pick the right pumpkins and take photos while trying to make sure that two very inquisitive kids didn’t get into too much trouble in a very muddy field!  Despite that though, we know that the kids had fun because they didn’t want to leave!!

In a few days we will carve our pumpkins and then I will get to enjoy my favorite part… roasted pumpkin seeds… yum!!!
