Pumpkin picking 2011

It’s my favorite time of year again! I love the fall… maybe it’s because my birthday is in the fall… maybe it’s the crisp air and the changing leaves… maybe it’s just everything about it… I don’t know. What I do know is that I’m looking forward to fall for months!

One of the things  I love to do in the fall, especially now that the kids are getting older, is go to the pumpkin patch. This year was our third year going to this particular patch, and while much of it is the same, so much has changed!

{Warning: this is a photo heavy post!!!}

Who knew that there would be ships and oceans at the farm?

Noah in the Old West Town

There were also wild west towns to be played in…

Noah climbing onto the straw maze

and straw seats to be walked on by one dare devil…

Abby walking on the straw maze

and another!

Noah Jumping

The best part is jumping down off of the end though!

Noah in jail

The kids were put in jail… try as he may, Noah couldn’t look sad for more than 2 seconds!

Pickle barrel Abby

We’re still trying to figure out what Noah is doing in this photo!

Abby at Goebberts

Abby was enjoying herself… and some time away from her brother.

Watching the chicken show

We took breaks from running and playing to watch the chickens and rooster sing.

Sitting in the giant chair

When the straw started poking them in the butt, they moved on to bigger chairs!

Abby running on straw maze

Then it was time to run and play again!

Abby yelling out of the school bus

Abby driving the bus

Noah in the bus

Abby yelling while driving

That’s not road rage, that’s pure joy!!!

Abby eating corn on the cob

Abby had her first corn on the cob!!

It’s funny that there are no pictures of us in the actual pumpkin patch… I guess it was a little too hard to pick the right pumpkins and take photos while trying to make sure that two very inquisitive kids didn’t get into too much trouble in a very muddy field!  Despite that though, we know that the kids had fun because they didn’t want to leave!!

In a few days we will carve our pumpkins and then I will get to enjoy my favorite part… roasted pumpkin seeds… yum!!!

I’m curious, what is your favorite season?

{ps… don’t forget to enter to win your very own Noby Designs tote!!}

  1. These photos are adorable! Looks like the kids has so much fun!

Fall is definitely my favorite season. Love everything about it, the cooler weather, the leaves changing color, Starbucks puts their Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate back on the menu…

  2. What a fabulous patch! I love all the different things there. My SD, age five, LOVED the hay stacks. We walked and jumped and walked and jumped over and over!
The kids are too cute! Love their smiles. 🙂

I didn’t get many pics of pumpkins either, and come to think of it, we didn’t buy any pumpkins. LOL.
