Valentine’s Day will be here in a few short days and while I may not have many decorations set up yet, I did get the heart garland up and have been busy crafting behind the scenes.
There are lots of tutorials out there that will show you how to make very simple mini crocheted hearts… in fact, I’ve made a few of those myself. This year though, I wanted to make a heart that was equally as small, but different… and so I started experimenting with stitches until I came up with a pattern that I liked.
Mini Crochet Heart Tutorial
sl st–slip stitch
hdc–half double crochet
Crochet hook size – US size H/8 (5.00mm)
Minimal amounts of worsted weight yarn
Tapestry needle (to weave in ends)
In magic chain, 12 sc. sl st closed
Chain 3, dc in same st; 2 tc in next sc; 2 dc in next sc; hdc in next 2 sc; hdc + dc in next sc; dc and hdc in next sc; hdc in next 2 st; 2 dc in next st; 2 TC in next sc; dc, chain 3, ss in same stitch as dc. Weave in ends.
You may not sell or change my pattern in any way. Please do not copy this pattern and post it as your own. You may sell the products that you make while using this pattern, but if you do, please link back this post.
For this project, I used Caron Simply Soft (center), I Love This Cotton (right) and Red Heart Super Saver (left) yarns.
