So it’s official… Noah is a preschooler. *sigh* I can’t believe it. I look at him and still see that tiny face that stared up at me with those big blue eyes and toothless grin that only an infant has… only to blink and see a 3+ foot tall, 30 something pound bundle of energy and attitude in front of me. I can’t believe he’s in preschool already!
He’s ready for it though and I guess in a way so am I. He had a great first day (it was a shortened with parent version of his normal day) and full day (all 2 1/2 hours of it) so far… though from the sounds of it he thought that some of the boys in his class weren’t playing very nicely… 😉 Ahhh the worries of a 3 year old!
On his first full day there, his teacher came and got him out of our van and he walked into the building with her… without looking back… that got to me a little. While I was happy that he was walking in without a big fuss or tears, I had hoped that he would at least look back and wave. Abby didn’t know what was going on and was a little upset that her brother was leaving her… that soon changed though and she was very happy to have her mama all to herself.
The two of us didn’t do anything spectacular… I had a fridge to restock, so we went shopping. It was nice to only have to watch out for 1 child for a change and I think know Abby loved the fact that she was finally able to walk next to the cart with me instead of having to sit in it like she usually does. While it was very odd being out of the house with only one child, I am really going to enjoy the time alone with Abby. The two of us didn’t get that one on one bonding time that Noah and I did. We’re getting that now though and I have plans for our time together.
I’m so glad that these past two days have gone so well. Noah has been ready for this… and he needs the extra interaction with kids… especially the boys (he has no problem getting along with girls!!). I can’t wait to hear how his next day of “class” went!!
It’s a good thing that he was secure enough not to look back! I really bonded with my second when my first was in school too. 🙂
Oh my gosh! Look at him! I can’t believe it. He was just a baby, and now a PRESCHOOLER????
He is adorable. I love his little smile. So glad he is enjoying it and you are getting precious alone time with Abby.
🙂
