- I’m sitting here with Abby on my lap watching/listening to the Blackhawks play the Canucks and I hope that this is the last game of this series. I can’t take the stress!! ha! Go Hawks!
- Both Ray and I are night owls… even when I’m dead tired, I find it hard to go to bed at night. Once I’m in bed though, I’m out with in seconds… well… minutes. I was hoping that my children would take after us… and to an extent, Noah does… he’s finally trained started going to bed willingly (both at naptime and bedtime) and is asleep within minutes (most days… I don’t want to jinx it!)… BUT! (yes it’s a big but) he is up at 5 am every.single.morning. With the exception of this morning when he was up at… wait for it… 4 freaking AM. Wide – come on Mama let’s play – awake. Somebody shoot me! Needless to say I was not a happy camper and thought that I might be able to coax him back to sleep like I do most mornings, but nooooo… he was up and he was up for good. I thought it was cute though that he lost his steam while he was eating breakfast. I had just finished nursing Abby, when I heard some heavy breathing coming from the highchair… I looked over and there he sat… eyes closed, head bobbing, but with his hand still on the chocolate cheerios! He let me pick him up and bring him to his bed, he looked at me while I covered him and was asleep again before I had closed the door. I had hoped that because he slept so little during the night he would take either a longer nap or 2 of them, but no… it was his usual nap just earlier and that was the only one. I must say though that he’s great when he’s tired. He went to bed 30 minutes later than usual tonight and was his happy little self. No whining or fussing…. I just hope and pray that he lets me “sleep in” til 7 tomorrow morning!
- Classes are almost done for this semester. I have 3 sociology exams left to take… 1 of them will be tomorrow. I’m crossing my fingers that all goes well with that and will be studying again as soon as I finish this post. I had my last Psychology exam last week and got an A on it, which means I finished that class with an A as well. So far so good for keeping my 4.0 average! I signed up for my Fall semester classes… Ethics and Earth Sciences. We’ll see how that goes!
- My mama is coming back home tomorrow. She’s been in Germany the past two weeks. While I’m glad that she was able to visit her mom (my Omi) and family, I’m also glad that she’s coming back home. We did Skype a few times… I even hooked up the webcam so that she and my family over there could see the kids. Noah thought it was a little odd that his Omi was in the laptop talking to him… it was pretty cute seeing him react to seeing her. I had never video Skyped before and I have to say that I love it! It really makes the world feel a little smaller. I mean I could see and talk to my cousin, aunt and Omi… something that I wouldn’t be able to do otherwise.
So now before I go I wanted to let you all know about a great contest that’s going on right now over at Project Mommyhood.
Lesley is having the 2nd Annual Mommy Blogger of the Year Contest and is accepting nominations from May 10th (yesterday) through May 15th. The winner not only gets the great title of being Mommy Blogger of the Year 2010, but also gets a great swag bag (I’ve heard this years is even better than last years!). Now that you’re done reading what I had to say today, why not stop on over there and nominate a blogger?!?!
I’m glad you’re getting your mommy back and that you’re wrapping up your exams. I hope you do really well! I wish I had a little bit of your night owl in me!

I really, really, really don’t know how in the world you do it all! It is stunning. I am a nightowl too. Same exact way, up til 12am – asleep in seconds – then up by 6-630am. I do best on 6 hours sleep. 8 hours makes me feel TIRED. It’s so weird. Of course that is now, don’t know what I would do if I had babies. Ahh!
