Snow scooting

Now that most of the snow has melted and there are only a few inches left of what once used to be 3 foot high drifts next to the house, I thought I would remember the blizzard of 2011 with a little video of Noah scooting down one of the snow “mountains” by the house… by the way… those snow mountains still exist and will probably still be here in April since they were well over 6 feet high!

The landscapers were out the other day and were fixing the mountains of snow. The warm weather was causing them to melt and snow was starting to get into the road again. Noah heard the (distinct) beeping of one of the plows backing up and got upset that they were taking his snow away!! I think I was able to successfully explain to him that they were not taking the snow away, they were just fixing the piles of snow and that there would be more snow another time… but then again I was talking to a 2 1/2 year old, so who knows. 😉

I am happy to see the green grass, though seeing it makes me sad that I forgot to plant the tulip bulbs that I bought last fall. Does anyone know how long tulip bulbs will hold if not planted and will I be able to plant them next fall so that they will bloom the following spring? I love that first splash of color that they give.

Random… I still need to take pictures of this weeks and last weeks crafts… I crocheted hearts for the kids with the intention of having both done in time for Valentine’s Day. Though they were pretty quick to crochet, I hadn’t planned on the kids getting sick and Noah’s (larger) heart wasn’t finished until yesterday (Thursday)… oh well better late than never. Next weeks craft is a work in progress… I had started knitting Abby a cardigan/hoodie just before Christmas and it got set aside and that’s where it stayed until last night. It was less than half done, but it’s coming together pretty quickly now and I can’t wait to see it finished and on my little girl!

One last bit of randomness… I booked the place where we will bee having Abby’s birthday and am thisclose to getting the invites out! I can’t believe that she will be 1 in TWO weeks!!! Two weeks… what the?!?!?!?! Seriously… how can that be? Which reminds me… I have to upload a video of her walking… she is such a pro now and is too stinking cute at it!

Okay… what started out as an ode to the snow post has gotten off track… I blame my not posting often enough lately for the randomness. All of the things that I want to write about just build up and fight for a chance on the blog. I’m hoping that now that the kids are on the mend that I will get the chance to sit down at the laptop a little more often while Ray is playing his gruesome (even he admits that it freaks him out) video game (Dead Space 2… just for those of you that were curious).
