One of the main reasons why I started sewing the Toddler Totes is that I wasn’t finding any “boy approved” totes. The kids and I started visiting the library on a more regular basis a few months ago. Shortly thereafter Noah wanted a his own library tote. I’m sure that I could have just given him a plain canvas bag and he would have been fine with that, but I wanted something a little more special for him.
I looked online at various tote bag tutorials. The bags had personality, but I questioned whether or not the thin cotton fabric would stand up to a toddler/preschooler. I liked the durability of canvas and the fun factor of the printed cotton fabric and decided to use them both… and so the first Noby tote was born.
This bag gets its fair share of use. Noah uses it to hold his library books, he uses it as a preschool bag , and it gets used as a toy tote all the time. I let him be involved, it is his bag after all, and he helped me pick out the lining… race cars of course.
When I decided to start Noby Designs, I knew that I had to have something for the boys… in fact, the first few yards of fabric that I bought were specifically yards of “boy” fabrics.
I updated the shop today and added the Let’s Move tote for boys. This is a limited tote and I will only have 4 totes available… 2 totes are finished and ready for a new home and I am leaving 2 totes available for custom orders.
I’m also making it easier to enter to win your own tote! Now all you need to do is go to that post and leave me a comment letting me know which tote is your favorite! =)
Those are so darn cute!!!!
