And just like that, it’s August again!
It feels like July just flew by. We started out the month with a quick family trip to Branson, MO – which was fun… but not for us. We stopped by the Tiger Sanctuary and Meramec Caverns on the way home and the kids loved both of those.
Honestly, July was a bit of a blur… shortly getting back from our trip, we found out that our family will be growing… again. The past few weeks have been filled with sleepy and slightly nauseating days… but it’s been all good so far. Ray and I were able to see our newest little addition yesterday and look forward to meeting him or her in March!
This little addition is quite the unexpected surprise… we weren’t planning on adding to our brood and I had actually gotten rid of almost all of our baby things earlier this summer… including all of my maternity clothes. It was all a bit of a shock… and I think that I may have been in denial for the first week or so… but actually seeing the little minion moving around yesterday and seeing it’s little heart beating… it was a happy moment in what had been a very stressful and emotional week.
The reason why I have been quite on here these past two weeks is because my father had a severe stroke last week Tuesday. It came as a complete shock to all of us and I think I can safely say that we are all so very, very happy that my step-mom was home at the time! She was able to quickly call 911 and get him the help that he needed. These past two weeks have been a roller coaster ride of up and down days… good days with progress and bad where it seemed like he was regressing. Thankfully there have been more good days and he’s slowly getting better. He still has a long road to recovery ahead of him… with the first step, getting out of the icu, in sight.
I won’t go into too much detail, goodness knows that I’ve shared enough on Facebook, but be prepared for another update or two over the next few months as I’ll be flying back and forth to Texas (for as long as I can) to be there for him and my step mom.
That’s all for this morning. I just wanted to give a quick update. Now it’s time to clean the house, prepare for Noah’s 7th birthday tomorrow, and work on some more tote orders that are waiting downstairs.
I hope you all are having a great day and wish you a great weekend!
