The past two weeks have been busy ones here at home. Ever since we found out that we were expecting a second child, 5 years ago, we started planning turning converting our loft into a bedroom, giving us three bedrooms instead of just two.
About three years ago I started a crochet project that I had hoped would be finished quickly, but knew would take a while to complete. It was springtime and I figured that I could have it finished by December – as a Christmas gift for Abby. Christmas came and went…. twice, before it was finally completed! Abby finally got her blanket for her 5th birthday this year.
It was just after 7am yesterday morning, and wonders upon wonders, all three children were still sleeping… most of them were even in their own beds! My husband had already left for work and I was using the quiet time to drink my green smoothie and mentally prepare for the day ahead.
Back in 2011, I was on the hunt for a flat Easter egg crochet pattern that was worked in the round. I had made a heart garland a few weeks earlier for Valentines Day and I wanted to make a similar egg garland for Easter. I searched the internet and found that there were plenty of patterns for 3 dimensional eggs and flat eggs worked in rows
Big Belly Ellie is here and ready to conquer the world! She’s been a little shy lately, but has decided that it’s finally time to make new friends.
Over the past few months, I haven’t been able to sew as often as I like, since I now have one child who doesn’t nap and two others who refuse to sleep at the same time.
After the night that we had in our house last night, I have more than enough reasons to be tired and crabby… Abby is sick, Michael is teething and quite possibly fighting the same cold that Abby has, so he’s up more often than usual, Noah woke me around 2 am to let me know that he missed the toilet and made a mess of his pajama pants and bathroom floor, and to round it all off, the batteries in 2 of our smoke detectors decided to die (within 20 minutes of each other) right after I had gotten Noah back to bed and the bathroom floor cleaned up.
Valentine’s Day will be here in a few short days and while I may not have many decorations set up yet, I did get the heart garland up and have been busy crafting behind the scenes. There are lots of tutorials out there that will show you how to make very simple mini crocheted hearts… …
Holy cow where did January go to so quickly? Can you believe we are already into the second month of 2012? Crazy isn’t it? Oh and it’s Friday too… will the craziness ever end? 😉
Lately I have been trying my best to keep busy and not give my mind a chance to think about more than the task at hand… while I do like to think about anything and everything, really being able to think about anything right now is not a good thing… and so I have been keeping myself busy.
