Hello old friend…

Coming back to this blog is like seeing an old friend again. No matter how much time has passed, it feels just like the last time we saw each other… even when that last time was months ago.

So much has happened these past few months… and so much more will be happening in the next few weeks. We are officially on baby watch!! I’ll be 36 weeks tomorrow, meaning that I’ve already made it further than Abby’s pregnancy. I’ve been on pins and needles this past week. The threat of preterm labor has been in the back of my mind for eight months, but it was really kicked up a notch once we hit the 35 week mark. I thank God for everyday that passes and baby boy is still growing inside of me, but one way or another, he’s getting evicted at 40 weeks (if he even decides to stay in that long!).

In case you may not have noticed, we are found out that baby #3 is a boy!! Yay!! Abby took a few days to get used to the idea. In fact she burst out in tears when we told her that she was going to have a baby brother. Thankfully that didn’t last long and she’s embraced the idea of being the only girl now. I love how she randomly comes up to me and rubs the belly… how she calls the baby her baby… and best of all is when she tells me about how the baby is going to come out. That girl knows her stuff and it’s hilarious to not only hear her tell it, but also give a (slightly wrong) visual description of the process.

In addition to baby boy (who has yet to be named), we also added another girl to our family.

Frizti the German shepherd

This little cutie is the newest member of our family and she’s been with us for almost four months now. She’s also quite a bit larger now… and by quite a bit, I mean a lot… and by a lot, I mean about 35 pounds heavier!! Fritzi is a good girl for the most part, though she does have her moments. It’s during those times that I need to remember that she’s still a puppy. It’s soooo hard to remember sometimes though, because she most definitely doesn’t look like the fluffy little pup in the picture above, but I try… and she really is a good dog 90% of the time. =)

The kids are growing up far to quickly! Noah had his first day of Kindergarten today and Abby starts preschool next week. Summer has officially ended at our house and while it’s a little bittersweet, I do look forward to having a few hours a week to myself for the next few weeks. There is still a bit to get done before baby boy makes his appearance (nothing major, just lots and lots of laundry), and it’ll be nice to have some extra quiet time to get all of those things done… and maybe get in an extra nap or two! haha!

Soooo… (awkward pause)… I think this is the point where, as old friends, we hug and agree to do this again really soon. I really look forward to it too. See you again soon!!
