Friday Flashback – Dear Abby

It’s Friday again… why does it seem like the weeks just fly by? The kids and I have a few things planned for this morning before daddy comes home… but it’s all top secret!! 😉 It’s going to get hot today and I have a feeling that the slip and slide and water toys will be coming out today once all of our errands are taken care of.

Road trip to Pennsylvania

One week ago I was in full road trip mode… the bag still needed to be packed, laundry was being finished up and the house needed to be cleaned before we left. By Thursday evening, the kids and I had said our goodbyes to Ray and we were on our way my dad’s house to spend the night, before leaving early Friday morning for PA. Noah was especially excited to go, since just a few days earlier my aunt emailed us this photo…

Learning to overcome fears

or otherwise titled… How I finally really fished on my own I am 34 years old… just in case you were wondering… and though I have been fishing many, many times in the past, I never once touched the worm or fish… it was always something  that either my father or uncle did for me.

Strawberry Picking

Last weekend we did something that I haven’t done in… oh about 25 years. We went strawberry picking at a local farm!! It was fun for all of us and Abby especially liked it! She got the hang of it right away and started filling her belly as fast as I could fill the basket.

Hello June!!

Last week passed by far too quickly! Ray took an extra two days off after Memorial Day, so we were able to have a fun and busy little staycation. The weather over the holiday weekend was great {with the exception of some storms and a little hail Saturday morning}. It wasn’t all fun and barbecues though…

Let Summer Begin!

Today was Noah’s last day of his first year of pre-school. The weather was the perfect “last day of school” weather… sunny and warm {it’s supposed to be in the upper 80’s/90’s today} and a nice strong breeze… okay so the breeze is actually more like a good strong wind… but it helps keep things a little cooler.

One dry, one to go!

Our diaper/pull-up days are numbered here in our house! While Noah has been dry during the day for the past year, he has still been wearing {and needing pull-ups} at night. Over the past few months, the number of dry nights have been increasing, but there were still many, many, many nights that weren’t {not to mention that we had our fair share of nights that ended up with wet sheets}.

Friday Flashback – How Do You Describe a Miracle?

It wasn’t my intention to take the week off from blogging, but the weather was beautiful and the kids and I ended up spending hours upon hours outside this week. I planted flowers while they played, we pulled the little swimming pool out of its sleeping spot in the basement and we had picnics on the deck… it felt soooo good. I’m so happy that Spring has finally arrived! One of the things that I love about spring and fall is that I can open the windows and doors and let the fresh air flow through the house… it’s a bit cleansing for me… like the breeze is taking away all of the bad stuff and replacing it with freshness… but I digress.
