Tell it Tuesday

tell it tuesdays

Ahhh another week where I can have some verbal diarrhea… gotta love it.

I spent the day cleaning my floors… no not the carpets this time… the dog has been banished from them and must now stay in easy cleanup areas. So I mopped the downstairs floors and because I wanted to make sure everything was clean I also washed the baseboards and Mr. Cleaned the scuff marks off of the walls. I just need to keep telling myself – “I will have a clean house, I will have a clean house” and maybe I’ll be able to control my clutter problem.

I’m not a rule-breaker… never have been (well maybe small insignificant ones, but nothing that would get me into trouble).  So it really, really gets under my skin when I see so many of our associations rules being broken. One of the reasons why we moved into our home was because it and all of the other townhomes in our subdivision have 2 car garages… meaning less cars in the driveways. We liked that one of the rules was that the garages could not be filled with so much shit had to have enough room to park one car into it. For the longest time, almost everyone followed that rule. But it seems to be one that more and more people are overlooking and it’s really getting to me.  Yeah, you can call me petty… whatever. It’s just that even the association president – our neighbor – no longer follows this rule…. and I’ve heard that she’s one to quickly have others reprimanded when they are breaking rules.  So here we are trying not to accumulate too much crap (and clutter) so that we can park not 1 but both of our cars in the garage and there are other units with 4 cars parked in the driveway. But being the person that I am, I don’t say anything and let it just bother me… over and over and over again!

I may have said it before, but I love getting into bed when the sheets are clean and fresh and not yet slept in…. like the ones that I have on the bed right now.

We went to the Shedd Aquarium the other day. It was fun, but not as fun as I remembered it to be. We did bring the camera and Ray got a few good pictures of Noah… who btw had a blast and didn’t sleep at all while we were there. The whole time he was just pointing and oohing and ahhing at everything.

Finally, I just wanted to share this picture that Ray took of Noah and me…

BBQ 056

He was asking if I had posted it to the blog yet… he’s very proud of it… and I must say I can understand why. He is so much better with the new DLSR than I am and has taken some awesome pictures… he took one of a bee while we were at the Chicago Botanical Garden – it’s just insane. I keep telling him he should get his photoblog up and running, but does he listen to me? Noooooo!

  1. I’m so not a rule breaker either, but I can only bite my tongue for so long before it starts to bleed, so to speak. How about sending an anonymous letter to the president, or even vice-president, since the president is even breaking the rules? That would totally bug me!

I wish we had an aquarium near us. I think Callie would react the same way. The look on Noah’s face is just priceless!

And Ray should be quite proud of himself!! The pic of you and Noah is beautiful! Go Ray! Be sure to let us know when or if he ever get’s his photo blog up.

What kind of DSLR did y’all get? I got one for Christmas, and I’m still learning the in’s and out’s of it. There’s so much to learn!

  2. It is a shame that so many people are breaking the association’s rule. I agree with Kara – sending an anonymous letter would be a great idea.

  3. Oh how I wish my floor AND baseboards were clean.

My husband says we will neither own nice stuff, nor have a clean house until the children are grown and gone {{sob}}! I keep trying though! It is an uphill battle, but I keep trucking along;)

  4. Love the pic of you and Noah…that’s a keeper for sure….and man…that would soooo get to me too with the whole rule thing….and I think your dog and my dogs…are so on the same wave length…soon mine will be limited to the backyard only….

  5. That would irritate me too, if people were breaking association rules. I hate it when neighbors play their music loud. Is it necessary that I have to listen to your music too.

The two photos are just precious.

  6. I found your blog through SITS and just had to follow! I really enoyed some of your posts! I will soon have a spot where you can advertise for FREE on my page so if your interested keep checking back… or become a follower so that you will know when I make that feature available!

    Have a blessed day!

  7. I would be upset too! As tempting as it would be to just store everything imaginable in the garage, I’m more about getting rid of clutter. If I don’t need something so bad that I have to stash it away in a box, I don’t need it at all.

Those pictures are great! My hubby has a DSLR and just loves it.
