No Go BlogHer – I’m home!

It’s that time of year when thousands of bloggers get together for what may be THE blogging event BlogHer… this year it’s in New York City and happens to fall just days before Noah’s birthday, so it’s a No Go for me. My good bloggy friend Stefany over at To Be Thode teamed up with Maya from Musings of a Marf Mom to bring a bit of fun and swag to us non-BlogHer ’10 attending bloggers.

So for all of you No-Go BlogHer hoppers out there, here are my answers to the questions asked:

  1. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging on August 18, 2008… almost 2 years ago. I had only been married for 1 month and just had my baby boy.
  2. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging 10 days after my son Noah was born. I was getting up 3 to 4 times a night to nurse him and needed something to keep me awake. I had been on a pregnancy forum and a few of the moms on there had blogs, so I took a look at theirs and thought that having a blog would be a great way to keep my family updated about our son too… I really got into blogging though about 6 weeks later when I stumbled upon SITS. That’s when I started blogging for me too and not just to document my son’s milestone for the family.
  3. What is one thing you are going to do this week that is WAY cooler than going to BlogHer?
To kick off my own personal No-Go BlogHer, I’ll be taking the kids to the pediatrician on Wednesday to have their 2-year check-up (Noah) and shots (Abby)… please try not to be jealous as I will be dealing with two probably very unhappy children tomorrow! No, but really… the thing that I am looking forward to (and dreading a little, because my baby is growing up!) is Noah’s 2nd birthday on Sunday. There was no way that I would miss even part of that day! (Ohh yeah and Abby turns 5 months old on Thursday too!)
  4. Share a post that you think says a lot about you or is your favorite.
Wow, this is a tough one… I wrote a series of posts that introduce me and give the (condensed) story of my life, I have the links to those in my About Michaela page, those tell you about me, but I don’t know if they really tell you about me.
I’ve written posts where I poured my heart out… the first after losing my first “baby” and then again when we had to make a hard decision concerning our beagle… I’ve written posts about my crazy hormonal side, I’ve apologized to my body and written about insecurities I had when I found out I was pregnant again.
I think that together, those are a pretty good representation of me and the inner workings of my brain! 😉 Feel free to look around and read anything you want though!

I can’t wait to meet you all and have some fun over the next few days!!

  1. I love you Michaela! You are an awesome woman and I am sooo glad that we have met through the bloggy world. I know someday we will meet in person… we don’t live that far from each other!

And, I don’t even have to read those posts because I have read them all before. 😉

(don’t forget to link up in a bit!)

  2. A two-year old boy! An almost two-year old blog. I think that’s something to celebrate in all it’s greatness. Good for you staying home!

    😀

  3. I can’t believe how many babies are celebrating in August! Mine is turning one soon 🙂 Good luck with the shots — and thanks for stopping by. I look forward to reading more of your posts.

  4. Thanks for stopping by! You’re right – without No-Go Blog Her the words of those fake Oreos would never have gotten out! Of course, if Walmart hits a supply crisis I know who to blame 😉

I read your post about your little fur baby. It’s so hard when they’re suffering and you don’t want them to not be there anymore but you don’t want them to hurt. I’m glad she was helped along to that special dog heaven.

  5. Hello Mama Michie!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. We had fun at the zoo this week and it’s been great discovering new blogs throughout this blog hop. Happy birthday to your little Noah! Enjoy your weekend.

    Cheers!
