Craft Time – Weeks 6-12

I’ve  been so bad about updating the craft projects I’ve been working on over the past few weeks… well if I’m being honest, I haven’t been so great at completing 1 project a week either… so I’m a little behind. *sigh* I guess I need to step it up a little if I really do want to complete 52 projects in 52 weeks.

Week 6

Large Jingle Heart

Noah carried this around for days and is the one who called it the jingle heart because I put a few little bells in it so that it would make noise.

Week 7

Small Jingle Heart

Of course I had to make another smaller heart with “jingles” for Abby, since she kept trying to eat Noah’s!!

Week 8

Vinyl, vinyl, vinyl

I finally really played around with my Cricut and Make the Cut software and vinyl. I actually cut and put up more vinyl than this… including my sewing machine case and recipe folder. I still have plans to do some more decorating with vinyl, but the project I have in mind is a big one so we’ll have to see how it goes.

Week 9 and 10

Work in progress sweater for Abby

I wish that I could say that this is finished, but it’s not. I still have to finish the sleeve I have on my needles and then start (and finish) the other sleeve and hood. I really need to work on this so that it will still fit her when it’s done!

Week 11

Shamrock Garland

It was a St Patricks day project!! =)

Week 12

Easter Egg Garland

Week 13

This weeks craft is still being worked on, but here is a little sneak peek…

Noah couldn’t keep his hands away from this weeks project and can’t wait for it to be done… I can’t blame him, since the project is meant for him (right now at least). Now that I’ve actually looked at what I have done over the past few weeks, I haven’t done so bad after all. The only thing that is really bothering me is that I haven’t finished knitting Abby’s sweater… especially since I had originally hoped to have it finished my her birthday… *sigh*

What I love most about this project of mine is that it not only is motivating me to actually get up and craft… and finish the craft too (I’m notorious for not finishing crafts!), but it is also getting me to actually do more here at home. I’ve put more photos up on the wall in the past few weeks than I have in the 5 years that we’ve lived in the house prior to starting my 52 in 52 project. That in itself is making me want to finish decorating the rest of the house. I’ve been itching to put some paint on the walls downstairs and am thisclose to driving to Lowe’s and picking up some no VOC paint (I’m more of a Home Depot girl, but they discontinued their no VOC line!!).

Okay that’s enough rambling for now. It’s time to relax and enjoy this glass of wine before it’s time for bed and the nightly round of “Which child will cry and wake up first”. Week 13’s craft time update will be up in a few days =)

  1. Somehow I had missed this post, love seeing your crafts! I haven’t done anything since the winter holidays, and it felt so good to be creative. Can’t wait to see the rest of Abby’s sweater, rice craft and whatever else you’ve been working on this month.
