Hello December

It’s December… eleven months have passed through 2012, each day a little different from the day before it, yet all still somehow the same. It seems that the days pass by a little more quickly the older I get… I turned 35 this year… 35… *sigh*

The kids are getting older and it shows. Noah is almost halfway through his second year of preschool. We got his school pictures back shortly before Thanksgiving and my goodness how much he’s changed in the past year! Abby is… well, there are no words that can properly describe Abby. She is a bundle of spunk, sass, goof, attitude and so much more!! She has these looks that she gives… oh my! And that girl is always hungry… always “huddie”, but I’m so happy that what she wants to eat is usually fruit… right now her fruit of choice is clementine oranges… she eats at least 6 of them a day… usually more, hardly ever less. Do they sell stock in those, because I think we should invest. 😉

Both kids are excited that Christmas is just around the corner. Noah is at an age where he is finally embracing the thought of Santa while Abby wants nothing to do with him. She’s so afraid that he’ll say “ho ho ho” to her… not sure what’s wrong with that, but  in her 2 year old mind, it’s obviously not a good thing. This year we will be spending Christmas a little differently than we have in the past, and I’m looking forward to the change. In the past, we would visit all 4 of our families on Christmas Eve and Christmas day… it was a lot before we had kids, but add them to the mix and it made for 2 very long and stressful days.  This year we have decided to only see 1 family per day, and we will be going to church as well as not traveling anywhere on Christmas day. I’m looking forward to a less stressful holiday season this year. I’m can’t wait  to spend time with our families without having to keep an eye on the clock. It feels a little odd to break a tradition after having followed it for so many years, but having a family of your own also means starting traditions of your own… and I’m so happy to be doing that for our kids.

Noah snuggles

This post is a little all over the place, and I’m rambling again. Writers block has hit me and all of the Christmas prep has kept me from my sewing these past two weeks. Boxes of gifts are resting on my sewing table, so before I can do anything down there, those need to be wrapped and cleared away. I was able to get one thing crossed off of my list though… I revamped the site a little and changed the design a bit. I’ve been wanting to do that for a few months now and am happy that some naptimes were spent getting it taken care of. There are still a few tweaks to be made here and there, but for the most part it’s done! {For those of you reading this in an email or via rss, stop on by and check it out!}

That’s all that I have for today… the kids are done with breakfast now and we need to get on with our day… there are crafts to make, groceries to buy and a new phone to play with once the UPS guy drops it off!! =) {Our phones have been a fun little bit of stress, and I’m so happy to be putting that ordeal behind us… 3 phones with two different (new to us) carriers in 3 weeks… and Ray still doesn’t have his new “real” phone yet… I’m just happy to be getting mine so that I can start Instagramming again! ha!}

I’ll be back soon with a look at the some of the work we’ve done on our bathroom remodel, some shop updates, and a sneak peek at a new item!! =)
