It’s Friday afternoon and the icy wind is blowing up a storm outside. Inside though, two of our three minions are still napping, while the third is greedily licking a small spoonful of Nutella.
It’s on cold days like this, where I prefer either a nice creamy soup or homemade pizza for dinner… and because today I prefer the warmth of the oven over the blue flame of the gas stove, pizza wins. I’ve already prepped the dough and it is rising nicely as I type this out.
When I was composing this post in my mind, I knew exactly what I was going to write about and how it was going to be worded. Now that I’m sitting in front of my laptop (with a needy minion #2 on my lap… she woke up as I was typing out that last sentence), the words seem to fail me… but I’ll try my best.
*** Fast forward to Sunday afternoon. It’s not any warmer today than it was two days ago, and it’s just going to get colder over the next few days (we’ve already gotten the call that school is canceled tomorrow and Tuesday). But I digress… ***
Like many other couples, Ray and I have some very lofty dreams… one of which is to have our home paid off within the next few years. After sitting down this last weekend, we realized that if we make some changes (both slight and major) to our budget, we may be able to realize our dream much sooner than we had thought possible. It’s excitingly scary and will be a quite a challenge, but I’m up for it and I know that he is too.
Since I’ll be trying to cut costs daily in our life, I thought that I would share some of my best practices with you here on the blog in a weekly feature called “Living Frugal Friday“. Most of the changes that I’ve made in our home so far cost very little (since we’re trying to cut costs and not add to them) and don’t require a lot of time… because let’s be honest, time is precious and if the changes are going to take a lot of work, they probably won’t last long.
And because no post right now would be complete without a little bit of Michael…
I hope you’re having a great weekend!
