Shop Update – 9/18
Hi there!!! It’s a gorgeously sunny and cool Tuesday! The kids are napping peacefully, so I thought that I would write a little, while I wait for the washer and dryer to do their thing.

The days just got away from me this past week… Ray was out of town last weekend and was supposed to come home Tuesday evening… but his flight was delayed and his plane didn’t land until 1am… much later than expected!! That made for both a very long day and a very short night. Needless to say Wednesday was shot… we were all just too tired to do anything! Noah also celebrated his birthday at preschool this week, and I was happy to be there to enjoy his “big day” with him. He’s so happy to be back and we’re so happy that he really and truly loves going there.

This particular post was started back in April… and has sat untouched until now. I wasn’t able to finish it… I was in a funk… creatively, mentally and physically. It was hard finding the words to my feelings… and in writing what I did at that time, I felt like if I would continue on, it would probably send me spiraling down into some deep, dark place… I’m not really sure why I felt that way, but I did… and I was certain that it would happen if I continued… quite honestly, I didn’t want to go there.

4 years…
That’s the number of years that my best friend and I have been married… we were a little sneaky about it and eloped…. and you know what? I have no regrets about the way that Ray and I got married… in fact, I’d do it the same way all over again… it’s a day that I will remember for the rest of my life.
A few years ago when Ray and I were in the market for new bed, we couldn’t quite agree on which size to get… at just over 6 feet tall, Ray is not exactly a small man and wanted a king size bed so that he would have enough room to move and be comfortable. I on the other hand, liked the comfy, coziness of the queen size bed we had, and didn’t want to lose that. In the end, we did get the king size bed… and boy am I happy that we did, because every day, in the early morning hours, two pairs of little feet come scurrying through the hall and crawl into our bed next to us…

It’s official… summer vacation is now over and normalcy can now enter our house again… though we had a great summer and made memories that I hope to never forget, I am looking forward to the routine of the school year… which is crazy, since last year was Noah’s first year of “school”… preschool that is. I’m hoping that this is the year that I finish just as organized as I started… we’ll see how that goes!!

It’s just past 7am on this beautiful Wednesday morning. Ray has just left for work and I am enjoying the peace and quiet in the house while the children are still asleep. Somehow, our two rugrats find their way into our bed each and every single night, and it’s not always easy for me to slip out unnoticed. I love my children, but I cherish these quiet moments of solitude.

(Title sung to the tune of “Monday, Monday”…) Yesterday was one of those days where I wished it would rain so that I didn’t have to go out… my to do list was a mile long and I just wasn’t feeling the day, but it was sunny and beautiful out and so the list was pushed aside for a while, and the kids had their share of fun outside.

As a child I dreamt of being a ballerina when I grew up… later on I wanted to become a pediatrician. When it came time to go to college I studied German, with the intent on getting some sort of business degree… then I moved to Germany after my first semester.
