Looking back at 2010

2010 came and left with a bang… well only if you count the fireworks that were going off outside while ringing in the new year… Ray and I were actually sitting peacefully inside (with Abby sleeping in my arms) watching “Heaven Can Wait” on NetFlix. We were sitting there comfortably after having stuffed our faces with a home cooked dinner featuring fresh lobster tails… soooo tasty!! Thankfully Ray had an alert set up on his phone and it warned us when it got close to midnight… I’m sure we would have missed it otherwise! It was a nice cozy and relaxed New Years… the way that it has been almost every year that we’ve been together.

Reflections of Christmas (just) past

Well, Christmas is half a week behind us and my home still looks like a toy store threw up in it. Seriously… there are toys and kids stuff everywhere… and that’s when the place is cleaned up! There’s no where to walk when the kids are playing… but they are happy – and sharing the toys (most of the time), which makes me happy. They truly were blessed with gifts from their grandparents and Santa. There are new toy cars and trucks, dollies and strollers, a tea set, a v-reader, a View-Master (remember those!! Santa brought Noah one this year and he loves it as much as Ray and I did as kids!) and soooooooooo much more!

It’s Christmas everywhere!

That’s Noah’s newest saying… we’ll be in a store, driving down the road or just coming down the stairs and Noah will stop, look around and say “It’s Christmas everywhere!” It’s too cute!! Ray said it once and it’s been Noah’s thing since then. I love seeing the excitement in his eyes as he sees the decorations and the lights, and I love that he wants to turn the lights on the tree on as soon as we get up… but they’re on a timer so I make up some excuse as to why I don’t. The little bugger has learned how to plug in the lights on the railing though, so I guess there will be a safety plug added to the extension cord!

Pumpkin picking {Foto Friday}

Last year we took Noah to a nearby farm to pick out a pumpkin. We decided to go to the same one again this year, but had problems actually getting there since the weather and our colds seemed to be working against us most weekends. We finally did make it out to the farm the day before Halloween and I have to say that we couldn’t have gone on a more perfect day… the sun was shining and there was a chill in the air, but it wasn’t too cold. It was simply perfect.

Halloween 2011

Noah picked out his costume a few days ago and couldn’t wait to wear it. As many of you know from previous posts, Noah’s best (toy) buddy is his monkey George so it was fitting that this year he was a monkey for Halloween.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!!

I hope that you all had a good New Years Eve. Like I wrote yesterday, ours was pretty low key. Ray ended up falling asleep on the couch. He did wake up in time to go upstairs to get ready for bed and was awake at midnight, so all was okay! (Hey you just have to get that midnight kiss!!)
