For some reason I can’t seem to get back into the groove of things. The past week has been a mix of normal and trying. It started off easy enough… I still had half a mountain of clothes to tackle and a house to get back in order. We had a bit of bad luck with the weather while down in Tennessee… it was either raining or overcast (with the threat of rain) the first few days there. Our last full day there though was forecast to be a beautiful – though chilly day and we meant to take advantage of every minute of sunshine!

I’ve been keeping busy here at home lately, which may explain the lack of posts over the past few days. I think I may have a case of delayed nesting or something, because suddenly I want everything to be organized and I want to craft (crochet, knit, sew, paint)… though I haven’t had as much time to craft as I may like.
About a year and a half ago, it was just Ray, Noah and me. We had had some rough times with Noah shortly after he was born. He needed to be retested over and over again for his newborn screening, which he kept failing… eventually causing us to drive downtown to to Children’s Memorial Hospital for even more tests
I may have mentioned once or twice that I started blogging because I needed something to keep me away during Noah’s many late night feedings. A few of the women in my online pregnancy group had blogs and I was interested to find out what they were all about.

Yesterday (well today, since I’m writing and posting this already on Thursday) was the start of the 2010/2011 football season. To celebrate the day that my husband believes should be a holiday, I dragged my sick butt off of the couch and attempted to make something that I had never made before… something that Chicago is famous for… something that we love to eat… stuffed pizza.

I’m taking a sick day… or two.
Noah starting coming down with something Friday night… sniffles and coughing… then he started getting warm. Saturday at noon his temp was 102F… a bit too high for mid day, but he gets that from his mama.
Noah doesn’t go anywhere lately with out his baseball cap… or as he says, his “bahl hat”. It’s all I hear about when we leave the house and goodness… if we forgot it at home he lets everyone know about it!

The firefighter on the far left of the screenshot there is my brother… he’s a volunteer firefighter in NC who luckily was unhurt in a training burn gone wrong. Though we may not agree about everything and though those differences have caused problems, we’re still family and I love and miss him.
