A rebirth of sorts

Over the past year, I’ve sat here in front of my laptop so many times, just as I do now, with the intention to write… something, anything… but the words failed me over and over again. Rather than do nothing, I’d tinker with the site – making a few changes here and there… adding and removing …

To New Beginnings…

Happy New Year!

While 2015 started out great, the second half of it was just plain terrible. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, it did… and I’m still trying to deal with it all emotionally. I think I can honestly say that I’ve never been so sad seeing one year end, while at the same time feeling so happy that a new one was beginning.

New Feature

Building and maintaining a website takes quite a bit of work… work that’s not always noticeable just by visiting the site. I’ve been working behind the scenes quite a bit over the past few months… changing the theme and layout, adding the shop and then slowly filling it with products. Most recently I did this…

My name in lights

I’d love to see my name in lights… well maybe not… but I have been featured over at Frosted Fingers in Paula’s new Chicago Blogger series.

Looking back at 2010

2010 came and left with a bang… well only if you count the fireworks that were going off outside while ringing in the new year… Ray and I were actually sitting peacefully inside (with Abby sleeping in my arms) watching “Heaven Can Wait” on NetFlix. We were sitting there comfortably after having stuffed our faces with a home cooked dinner featuring fresh lobster tails… soooo tasty!! Thankfully Ray had an alert set up on his phone and it warned us when it got close to midnight… I’m sure we would have missed it otherwise! It was a nice cozy and relaxed New Years… the way that it has been almost every year that we’ve been together.

Happy 2 years!

Today is my 2 year Blogoversary!! I almost forgot about it, but then the Dr’s office called confirmed Ray’s appointment tomorrow and I remembered that his appointment is on the 19th, so today is the 18th and OH MY GOODNESS I started blogging two years ago with a post detailing Noah’s birth and some pictures of the first 10 days of his life. Anyway…

I’ve taken a break… my reader is overflowing with post after post yet to be read and I cut back the amount of time that I spent online these past two weeks. Instead I have been reading, and reading, and reading some more. When I wasn’t reading, I was spending time with my husband while watching a movie (or the occasional hockey game – Go Blackhawks!!), crocheting (pictures to come once the toys are stuffed and finished) and contemplating whether or not it is a good idea to make handmade soap in a home with two small children (if you have experience with this, your thoughts are greatly appreciated!).

Tell it Tuesday –

This will be a quick post today. I wanted to let you all know about It’s the blog-child of two bloggers I love – Elizabeth from Confessions From A Working Mom and Tamara from The (Un)Experienced Mom – and I am proud to say that…
