Rambling

Obviously sitting down to pre-write posts isn’t working out so well. This past week has been filled with such a mix of things. Last Thursday I took the kids to the pediatrician for flu shots, a check up {Noah’s 4 year… I’m only 3 months behind} and the latest set of vaccinations. Needless to say, it was inevitable that at least 1 of my children would have a reaction to the shots… and it was Noah. The poor kid’s temp started rising Thursday evening and he didn’t break it until sometime on Sunday.

My electronics are trying to break me!

For some reason my electronics are trying their hardest to make me look like some sort of bad girl. It started a few weeks ago, when my computer blue screened and refused to work for me. Soooo… I eventually re-installed everything and started with a clean slate. It was aggravating, I lost some files and had to re-edit photos that were being worked on when my laptop crashed, but there was no use boohooing about it and the experience actually had me feeling a little lighter in the end. Great.

Homemade Playdough {Tutorial}

It’s back to school time, so you know what that means… sickies galore!!! =)

The kids have been fighting something ever since they got their flu shots 3 1/2 weeks ago. I was hoping in Abby’s case that her runny nose was caused by teething (getting 2 of the last bottom 4!!), but it doesn’t look like that was entirely it. Both kids were feeling pretty crumby this past Sunday (lets face it, Ray and I weren’t feeling too great either – we’re fighting whatever “it” is too), so the day was spent doing “calm” things… even though it would have been great to get out and run and play… it was a beautiful fall day!

Crash and burn

So I have started and deleted this post a few times… okay twice… but anyway. My laptop crashed this past Friday. It hadn’t shown me the finger… ehhem… the blue screen in over 6 months, so it was destined to happen again sometime soon. The problem this weekend was though that unlike the past 2 times, I was not able to get everything back up and running with out a loss. *sigh*

Just a spoon full of sugar..

I really wanted to write about something fresh, new and well… earth shattering (yeah right!!), but there will be none of that today. No instead I’m taking a teeny tiny break from what I’ve been doing since late last Thursday… which is to say that for the few minutes it’s going to take me to write this I will not be wiping any noses… or putting Vaseline under said noses… or looking for a new “bwoogie cwoff” (Noah translation: boogie cloth).

Reflections of Christmas (just) past

Well, Christmas is half a week behind us and my home still looks like a toy store threw up in it. Seriously… there are toys and kids stuff everywhere… and that’s when the place is cleaned up! There’s no where to walk when the kids are playing… but they are happy – and sharing the toys (most of the time), which makes me happy. They truly were blessed with gifts from their grandparents and Santa. There are new toy cars and trucks, dollies and strollers, a tea set, a v-reader, a View-Master (remember those!! Santa brought Noah one this year and he loves it as much as Ray and I did as kids!) and soooooooooo much more!

More teeth and other updates

I few week have passed since the last update on the children and all I can say is that they have not slowed down where the milestones are concerned.

Our little Abigail is stunning us with how quickly she is learning new things. Less than 4 weeks after starting to crawl, she is now pulling herself up on anything and everything she can and is starting to cruise

Getting back to normal

For some reason I can’t seem to get back into the groove of things. The past week has been a mix of normal and trying. It started off easy enough… I still had half a mountain of clothes to tackle and a house to get back in order. Isn’t it funny how you just have soooo much more work to do after a vacation… even when you’re still trying to keep up with that work while on vacation… yeah not really funny… not funny at all.
